The 92 sq m apartments, located in a house built in 1534 at Vokieciu st.24, will become a cozy home for those who value the harmony of comfort, privacy and the historical context of housing.
The brick building designed by architect Kristupas Glaubicas is widely mentioned in historical sources and is known as the house of Vilnius burgher Ulrichas Hozijus (elsewhere mentioned - Melleris). Being located on one of the three most beautiful streets in Vilnius, the neighborhood of the Lutheran quarter, the whirlwind of historical events surrounding it over the centuries does not leave anyone indifferent - this house was described by writer Kristina Sabaliauskaite in her novel "Silva rerum III".
The building was completely reconstructed in 2005 - modern communications were introduced, the main structure of the building and the roof was completely replaced. Polychrome research revealed as many as 32 historical layers of walls, and authentic constructive elements – five massive arched niches in the living room and another, a former window opening in the kitchen area – became a distinctive interior accent.
The spaces are planned in a modern and functional way. On the first floor – a spacious lounge, a living room with a fireplace, a dining area with access to a balcony and a kitchen with an island. Here you will also find a guest toilet and a utility room. On the second floor – two cozy bedrooms and a bathroom.
The interior is subtly romantic, highlighting the authentic features of the house: natural wood kitchen furniture, solid wood floors, wide window sills, a playful balcony, artistic staircase accents, a graceful fireplace, a unique copper hall lamp, and many small details of the style of that era.
Living in this house is peace in the very heart of the old town. The windows open to picturesque views of Vilnius, and the inner courtyard is quiet and private. As soon as you step out of the house, you will enter the romantic "Tunnel of Love", connecting Lutheran and Vokieciu streets. Legend has it that if you walk here holding hands with your loved one, your love will last forever.
The indisputable advantage of these apartments is their own parking space in the closed courtyard of the house.
This apartment is a rare opportunity to settle in a historical 16th century space, to become not only its resident, but also a part of centuries-old history.
